Henry Schein Animal Health announced today that Francis X. Dirksmeier has joined the Company as President, Henry Schein Animal Health – North America.
Dirksmeier brings to Henry Schein Animal Health more than 30 years of commercial and leadership experience, most recently serving as General Manager, GE Healthcare – Global Asset Management and Hospital Operations Management.

Prior to GE Healthcare, Dirksmeier was co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Agility Healthcare Solutions, a provider of enterprise visibility and management of patient flow, assets, beds and rooms, staff, emergency department activities, and surgical services processes in an integrated, modular application. Agility was acquired by GE Healthcare in 2008, and Mr. Dirksmeier subsequently led GE Healthcare’s and Agility’s integrated solutions. Prior to Agility, Dirksmeier was with McKesson Corporation, most recently as President of McKesson Medical-Surgical, its medical supply distribution division.
In his new position, Dirksmeier leads the largest portion of Henry Schein’s global animal health business. Henry Schein Animal Health in North America accounts for nearly half of Henry Schein, Inc.’s global animal health business, which had sales of approximately $2.9 billion in 2014. In addition to North America, Henry Schein’s global animal health business includes operations in 12 European countries, Australia and New Zealand.
