An open access clinical commentary published this year in the Equine Veterinary Education journal from the British Equine Veterinary Association (BEVA) discussed Tracheal Perforations: Finding the Ideal Treatment Option. The author was Alexandra Gillen of the Philip Leverhulme Equine Hospital, University of Liverpool, Neston, UK.
The author noted, “Given the range and potential severity of complications discussed above, early intervention is crucial to ascertain the number and location of tracheal perforations, as well as stopping additional air dissecting through muscle and fascial planes.”
