Two horses in Harris County, Texas, tested positive for equine infectious anemia (EIA) on a premises that is now under quarantine.

The Texas Animal Health Commission confirmed on March 26 two cases of equine infectious anemia (EIA) in Quarter Horses in Harris County. Both horses have been euthanized.

The Texas Animal Health Commission has quarantined the premises and are working with the owner and local veterinarian to monitor potentially exposed horses and implement biosecurity measures.
