More Strangles in King County, Washington

King County in Washington state has a confirmed case of strangles with five other horses exposed.

The Washington State Department of Agriculture reported one confirmed case of equine strangles at a premises in King County. There is a voluntary quarantine in place.

The 11-year-old Belgian gelding had onset of clinical signs on May 13. Those signs included fever and nasal discharge. The gelding was confirmed with strangles on May 15. He was reported to be affected and alive.

There are five other horses exposed on the premises.
