Idaho WNV Horse Euthanized

A Quarter Horse mare in Idaho was euthanized due to West Nile virus.

The Idaho State Department of Agriculture confirmed West Nile virus (WNV) in a 5-year-old Quarter Horse mare that had not been vaccinated. The mare started exhibiting neurologic signs on September 5 that progressed from severe ataxia to seizures and an inability to stand. The horse was euthanized.
