The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development confirmed a case of equine strangles in Eaton County. The yearling filly had onset of clinical signs on May 6 that included fever and swollen lymph nodes. The premises is under a voluntary quarantine.

This was the third confirmed case of equine strangles from a premises in Eaton County in 2021.
