Two Oregon Geldings Confirmed with Equine Influenza

Two Paint geldings on a private facility in Clackamas, Oregon, were confirmed positive with equine influenza, with two others suspected and four others exposed.

An attending veterinarian reported a confirmed cast of equine influenza in Clackamas County, Oregon. The vaccinated Paint gelding  had a cough, fever and mild nasal discharge and was confirmed on March 18. The gelding was alive and affected at the time of this report. 

There was one other gelding on the private facility that was also confirmed positive that had similar clinical signs. Two other horses are suspected of having equine influenza and four others were exposed.
