California Tallies Eighth 2017 Equine WNV Case

The eighth equine case of West Nile virus (WNV) has been confirmed in California this year.

The eighth equine case of West Nile virus (WNV) has been confirmed in California this year. On August 22, the California Department of Food and Agriculture said an unvaccinated 2.5-year-old Paint gelding in Plumas County was displaying neurologic signs. He was subsequently confirmed positive for WNV. The gelding is alive and recovering.
