EHV-4 Confirmed in Washington State Horse

The Washington State Veterinary Office confirmed a case of respiratory equine herpesvirus type 4 (EHV-4) in Mason County.

The Washington State Veterinary Office confirmed a case of respiratory equine herpesvirus type 4 (EHV-4) in Mason County. 

The horse at a private boarding facility was purchased from the livestock market and had a runny nose when received. The owner is working with a private veterinarian on biosecurity and checking temperatures daily. There are three other horses exposed on the property.
