Kentucky State Vet Lifts Maryland Racetrack Health Restrictions

The Kentucky State Veterinarian has lifted EHV-1 restrictions on Thoroughbred racehorses from Laurel and Pimlico racetracks in Maryland.

Effective May 10, 2021, the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s Office of State Veterinarian rescinds restrictions on horses originating from both Pimlico Race Course and Laurel Park Thoroughbred racetracks. 

All horses from those facilities that meet the standard health requirements for Kentucky tracks and training centers (including EHV-1 vaccination, 72-hour Certificate of Veterinary Inspection, and valid negative EIA/Coggins test) will be allowed unrestricted entry.
