KSU Vet School Seeks Assistant to the Dean

General Description of Position: The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at Kansas State University invites applications for the position of Executive Assistant to the Dean. This is a regular, 12-month position with competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Job Description

The Executive Assistant will be responsible for providing general office administration to the Dean, including but not limited to: appointment and conference scheduling, travel arrangements, expense reporting, composing correspondence with general instructions, maintaining a confidential digital and hard copy filing system, assisting with development and preparation of CVM publications such as reports, brochures and invitations, and assisting in managing the Dean’s schedule. The Executive Assistant will also provide leadership guidance to support staff throughout the College of Veterinary Medicine. This includes working with the events office/alumni office and staff in the Dean’s office to organize programs, events, meetings or conferences by arranging facilities and caterers, issuing information or invitations, coordinating speakers and controlling event budget.

In addition, the Executive Assistant will be responsible for managing the contact information and contributions for current and prospective CVM donors. The Executive Assistant will also provide support and administration for key projects, reports and recordkeeping, help to ensure the professionalism and integrity of the CVM while also maintaining confidentiality in all matters. The Executive Assistant must be able to work with other colleges and communicate with executive and management within the University and State agencies.

Required Minimum Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and seven years of experience in an executive administrative position supporting a senior level executive, as well as two to four years of experience in management or supervision. Communication skills, customer service skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently are also required. Proficient computer skills is also a requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with University or academic experience and/or knowledge of Kansas State University policies and procedures.
