A vaccinated mare from Morgan County, Missouri, was euthanized due to complications of West Nile virus.

A 7-year-old mare from Morgan County, Missouri, has been diagnosed with West Nile virus (WNV). The University of Missouri Veterinary Health Center said the mare had acute onset of clinical signs on August 2, which included being non-weight-bearing on the left hind. She became recumbent and was euthanized. The mare had been vaccinated in March of 2017.
