The Nevada Department of Agriculture confirmed West Nile virus (WNV) in a 5-year old gelding showing ataxia, hind limb paresis and lip droop.

The Nevada Department of Agriculture confirmed West Nile virus (WNV) in a 5-year old gelding showing ataxia, hind limb paresis and lip droop. The horse was not vaccinated and is continuing to eat and drink although clinical signs remain severe. The horse is located in north east Elko County between Wells, Nevada, and the Idaho border.
