Pathway Vet Alliance, a leading national veterinary hospital group throughout the U.S., announced Friday they are willing to provide access to up to 8,500 veterinary team members at more than 390 locations across 37 states to help the U.S. health care system in achieving the needed coronavirus vaccination goals for the population.

Pathway is offering the use of their veterinary clinics and hospitals and offering to pay their team members, if they volunteer to help administer the vaccine to people at their locations and in their communities.

“After hearing the idea of adding veterinary professionals to the list of vaccine administrators, which was floated by the director of the CDC on one of the national news outlets yesterday morning, our leadership team met and decided to take the possibility one step further by offering our facilities and personnel,” said Stephen Hadley, DVM, the CEO of Pathway Vet Alliance. “Just like when we offered the use of our ventilators back in early April, we’re committed to doing whatever we can to help end this global pandemic.”

Pathway’s locations include primary care veterinary clinics, which regularly provide checkups and vaccinations for pets, and specialty and emergency hospitals, which offer advanced services including internal medicine, surgery, critical care, cardiology, neurology, ophthalmology, oncology and more.

“Ultimately it’s up to government officials to determine whether or not they are willing to leverage our locations and our team members,” said Hadley. “Given the aggressive move to vaccinate 100 million people in 100 days, we wanted to publicly commit our support and offer to help in any way we can.”

Pathway is extending their support in 37 states and is available to local governments, if needed, as they work with the federal government to achieve this aggressive goal.
