Purdue Veterinary Practice Management Program

The world of veterinary medicine has become a more competitive environment, often necessitating critical analysis to ensure profitability of a business. This need has elicited a response from a number of veterinary schools to provide an educational platform for optimizing business management strategies.

Purdue University has recently implemented the Veterinary Practice Management Program (VPMP), which merges Purdue’s Krannert School of Management with its College of Veterinary Medicine. In the past, the Veterinary Management Institute (VMI) worked in collaboration with the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) for this purpose, but the new VPMP program has amplified their objectives, which are to “target a broader range of veterinary professionals and to foster more networking and interaction between colleagues, program faculty and alumni.”

The four-module program began in October 2013 and is open to veterinarians, veterinary technicians and practice team managers. For more information visit http://vet.purdue.edu/vpmp/.
