The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development confirmed a case of neurologic herpesvirus (EHV-1) in an 18-year-old Thoroughbred gelding in Oakland County. Clinical signs began on November 15 that included hind limb ataxia and urine retention. The gelding was confirmed on November 188. The vaccinated gelding is alive and affected.
