Clay County, Florida, Mare Euthanized Due to EEE

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services confirmed that a 3-year-old Carolina Marsh Tacky mare was euthanized due to Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE). 

The unvaccinated mare had onset of clinical signs on July 11 that included fever, incoordination and weakness of her hind limbs. She was confirmed with EEE on July 24.
