The Wyoming Livestock Board has confirmed on Thursday, February 8, that a fourth horse was confirmed positive for EHV-1 wild type. This horse originated from the same premises as the first horse, so no further quarantines were necessary. The index case was euthanized due to physical complications of his disease. The most recently diagnosed EHV-1-positive horse is stable and is being treated at the veterinary facility where it was evaluated.
A previous report stated that three premises and 26 horses were in quarantine in Wyoming for EHV-1 wild type.
