Kentucky State Vet Confirms EHV-1 Neurologic Horse at Turfway Park

The office of the Kentucky State Veterinarian has confirmed a neurologic case of EHV-1 wild strain at Turfway Park in Boone County. 

The horse presented with neurologic signs on February 2, 2018, and continued to deteriorate. It was euthanized on February 2. The deceased horse has been taken to the University of Kentucky Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory for necropsy. 

One barn at Turfway Park has been quarantined while the Kentucky State Veterinarian’s office conducts an investigation.
