The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development confirmed a case of equine strangles in a 21-year-old Miniature Horse stallion in Monroe County. The stallion had onset of clinical signs on May 10 that included anorexia, coughing and swollen lymph nodes. He was confirmed with equine strangles on May 20. The stallion is recovering.
