Ninth Florida Equine Strangles Case Reported

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services confirmed a case of equine strangles at a boarding facility in Lee County, Florida, on February 7. The horse had onset of clinical signs on February 1. 

Five other horses at the boarding facility were exposed.

This was the ninth confirmed case of equine strangles for Florida in 2022.
