New Veterinary School Opens in Tennessee

The new veterinary school is open at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee, just a few miles from Middlesboro. It is designed to fulfill needs for veterinarians in rural communities, according to a report from wkyt.com. The first graduating class will be in 2018.

Ninety-six students are part of the first class at the new vet school, according to the news report. About one-third of the students are from Kentucky, Tennessee or Virginia.

The new vet school also includes a 700-acre veterinary teaching center in Ewing, Virginia, just a few miles from the Kentucky state line, according to the news report.
