Rhode Island Quarter Horse Positive for EHV-4
The horse is located in Providence County and was recently shipped to Rhode Island from Florida with four other horses.
On January 25, a 2-year-old Quarter Horse in Providence County, Rhode Island, was confirmed positive for EHV-4. The horse was recently shipped from Florida to Rhode Island with four other horses, all of which have the same owner. The attending veterinarian reported the affected horse to be mildly febrile with mild respiratory signs. He is now recovering, and 20 horses are potentially exposed.
