EEE Claims Two Yearlings in Florida

Quarter Horse yearlings residing in Polk and Orange Counties, Florida, are deceased.

The Florida Department of Agriculture reported that two horses dies of Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE). 

The first case was in a yearling Quarter Horse colt in Polk County that had been vaccinated one year prior to his illness that is now deceased.

The second case was in a yearling Quarter Horse colt in Orange County that was unvaccinated and is now deceased.
