Back pain is a common cause of poor performance in horses, and managing it often requires a multimodal approach. Whether your practice sees primarily pleasure horses or top-level competitors, you are likely tasked with developing pain management and rehabilitation plans for back pain in many of your patients.

For Back Pain Awareness Month, starting Nov. 1, 2024, EquiManagement has partnered with ELvation USA, manufacturer of the PiezoWave2 shockwave system, to highlight recent research on back pathologies in horses.

Research topics will include managing lumbosacroiliac joint pain, the clinical significance of radiographic neck and back lesions during prepurchase exams, treatment strategies for overriding spinous processes, and more.
