The Washington state veterinarian reported a positive equine strangles case and two exposed horses at a facility in Snohomish County.

The state veterinarian in Washington state reported that a horse at a private facility in Snohomish County tested positive for equine strangles. The horse had traveled recently.

Two horses on the property were exposed.

The owner is following biosecurity recommendations and the facility is in quarantine.
