Equine Strangles Confirmed in Sumter County, Florida

This is the 17th confirmed case of equine strangles in Florida this year.

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services confirmed a case of equine strangles at a private facility in Sumter County. Five other horses were exposed on the property. The facility is under an official quarantine.

This is the 17th confirmed case of equine strangles in Florida for 2021.
