IBM App to Assist in Small Animal Emergency Medicine

IBM’s cognitive computing engine named Watson is next focusing on an app for small animal veterinarians, noted articles in several leading newspapers and online outlets today. According to an article in Canadian-based theglobeandmail.com, “IBM will reveal the first 10 apps using Watson for commercial purposes on Wednesday (Oct. 8), pushing into such areas as retail management, travel planning, medicine and computer security. Among the first apps will be Sofie, a new service made by LifeLearn Inc. of Guelph, Ontario, that acts as a real-time reference for emergency medicine for veterinarians.”

Watson is known for taking on the game show Jeopardy.
