Mars Equestrian Presents Veterinary CE Series

Mars Equestrian will present the inaugural Equine Veterinary Continuing Education series in the fall of 2021.

Mars Equestrian will present an inaugural Equine Veterinary Continuing Education series offering a total of six Registry of Approved Continuing Education (RACE CE) credits to veterinarians and veterinary technicians this fall. The virtual series will take place on three consecutive Saturday mornings from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. EST on October 30, November 6 and November 13. Topics will include Obesity, Laminitis and the Senior Horse covering relevant research and providing up-to-date nutritional advice, as well as current guidance on diagnostics.

This virtual educational series integrates Mars, Incorporated’s equine-focused products and services which include Waltham, Antech, Sound, Buckeye Nutrition and Spillers brands.

The expert panel of speakers features nutrition and veterinary specialists in research, diagnostics and product development. 

Pat Harris, MA, PhD, VetMB, DECVCN, MRCVS, a past president of the British Equine Veterinary Association, is the Director of Science for the Equine Studies Group at the Waltham Petcare Science Institute and is internationally recognized as a leader in equine nutrition and veterinary research. 

Amy Polkes DVM, DACVIM, is the Equine Veterinary Diagnostic Specialist for Antech Diagnostics and has been with the company for almost 20 years. She also provides mobile equine internal medicine services through her specialty practice traveling throughout the mid-Atlantic states. 

Nettie Liburt, PhD, PAS, is the Senior Equine Nutrition Manager at Mars Horsecare US, Inc., working on the Buckeye Nutrition brand. She has proven expertise in formulation, product development, as well as equine nutrition research. 

All three speakers are directly involved in the horse industry, both personally and professionally.
