Franklin L. Pellegrini, DVM, died December 22, 2016, at the age of 52 from natural causes. Pellegrini was one of the original founders of Freedom Health LLC and a pioneer in the field equine gastrointestinal diseases. Pellegrini led the research to evaluate and demonstrate the utility of SUCCEED Digestive Conditioning Program®, conducted the study first-hand that revealed the presence and prevalence of colonic ulceration in horses, and conceived the methodology for detecting GI tract lesions that is the basis of the SUCCEED® Equine Fecal Blood Test. Pellegrini is named on multiple patents for both products, both in the US and in other countries around the world.
Pellegrini left Freedom Health at the end of 2015 to pursue a private equine practice in Northeast Ohio.
“Frank was a remarkable equine veterinarian, a true genius without whom SUCCEED likely would not exist today,” said John Hall, President and CEO of Freedom Health LLC. “He was also a friend and significant partner in the origins of our business. He will be terribly missed.”
SUCCEED Digestive Conditioning Program and the SUCCEED Equine Fecal Blood Test are produced by Freedom Health LLC of Aurora, Ohio.
