The Iowa Department of Agriculture quarantined a premises in Polk County, Iowa, upon notification of the first positive EIA test. Six horses have tested positive, and all positive horses have been euthanized.

The remaining 22 exposed horses will remain on site until 60 days after the last known exposure, then they will be tested again. Once all remaining horses have tested negative after a 60-day period, the quarantine will be released.
