Four mares on a premises have aborted in Jerauld County, South Dakota, with one testing positive for equine herpesvirus.

The South Dakota Animal Industry Board confirmed an equine herpesvirus abortion in Jerauld County. There have been four abortions on the property (including the one that tested positive) in a group of 10 unvaccinated mares.
