The Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) is seeking highly qualified individuals to fill the roles of Region Director (Veterinarian) for the Laredo Region, Field Veterinarian for the Amarillo Region, and Field Veterinarian for the Laredo Region.

Region Director (Veterinarian) 

General Description: Plans, organizes, directs, and administers all animal health programs and administrative activities within the Laredo Region Office, located in the city of Laredo. Counties to be covered are Terrell, Val Verde, Kinney, Maverick, Dimmit, Webb, Zapata, Starr, Hidalgo, Willacy, and Cameron counties. The Laredo Region Office will work collaboratively with USDA APHIS partners.

Field Veterinarian – Amarillo Region 

General Description: The Field Veterinarian reports to the Region Director and is responsible for administering all animal health programs in the counties assigned by the Region Director. Coordinates and oversees the work of Animal Health Inspectors in disease program activities; assists in management duties and in supervising area operations in the absence of the Region Director.

Field Veterinarian – Laredo Region

General Description: The Field Veterinarian reports to the Region Director and is responsible for administering all animal health programs in the counties assigned by the Region Director.
