Product Claims to Stop Bleeding Internally or Externally in 10 Seconds

The AVMA’s Animal Health SmartBrief alerted us to a new veterinary product that could launch into the industry soon. The product’s creator claims the plant-based gel can stop bleeding in any part of the body (internal or external) in 10 seconds without pressure.

According to an article on Fastcoexist.com, the product, Veti-Gel, is made up of “plant-derived analogue of something called the extracellular matrix (ECM)–a mesh of proteins and sugars that sits around cells and tells them what to do and how to behave.”

The article stated that 1,600 veterinary clinics are testing the product, which is destined for the human market possibly as soon as 2015.
