Heinke is a 1979 graduate of The Ohio State University. She was a full-time mixed animal practitioner for 14 years with special interests in companion animals and horses before she turned her attention to helping veterinarians in business. Heinke is an Enrolled Agent (EA) with the IRS, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM). Heinke is the author of “Practice Made Perfect: A Complete Guide to Veterinary Practice Management.”

The Consolidated Appropriation Act 2021 clarified many aspects of the CARES Act passed in 2020, according to Heinke. These clarifications will help veterinarians not be overtaxed based on language used in the CARES Act. But, you need to know what the new laws are in order to ensure you are using them to the best benefit of your practice.
