The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture (ODAFF) has confirmed the second EIA-positive horse for 2017 in Oklahoma. The 6-year-old registered Quarter Horse gelding located in Bryan County was euthanized and the facility placed in quarantine. This horse was discovered as part of a disease investigation involving an EIA-positive racehorse in Louisiana.
The two EIA-positive horses recently raced at Delta Downs racetrack in Venton, Louisiana. Past EIA test history for this horse is unknown.
