Many horse owners and equine practitioners ascribe lameness as one of the limiting factors in horse performance; however, they also know that respiratory disease takes a significant toll. An in-depth look at the effects of respiratory disease on the performance of equine athletes was presented at the AAEP 2017 Convention and is summarized here.
